Cruise to Halkett Bay Marine Provincial Park, Gambier Island

  • Keep in mind there are a number of rocks that protrude above the water in the middle of the bay.  Chief marine hazards are a series of unmarked drying rocks and reefs in the bay’s northwest corner, and an unmarked rock at a depth of less than six (6′) feet in mid-fairway near the head.  The favoured approach is to the steep eastern shoreline.
  • Only dinghies are permitted to tie up at the float.
  • There are no fires permitted within the park.
  • Potable water is not available – bring your own drinking water.
  • Park operated by Swens Contracting; Email: info.scparks@gmail.com; Phone: 604-885-3714.
  • Hike up Mount Artaban
  • Potluck supper on the dinghy dock.

Cruise to False Creek, Vancouver

  • Location TBD.  Have called and sent emails to FCYC who may be able to accommodate but will not commit until closer to the day as they have no dedicated transient moorage space.  We have a reciprocal agreement with FCYC which they will honour for all boats they place for one night. They assure me that all boats will be accommodated somewhere in False Creek for the required nights.
  • Rates: Moorage – $1.25/ft/night; Power – $7.00/night
  • Have sent emails and left messages at Quayside Marina, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pelican Bay Marina & Heather/Burrard with either no response or the same response as FCYC.
  • Anchoring is available with a permit from FCYC or the City of Vancouver.
