DESCRIPTION:What better way to start the New Year than saluting the thing that tells us which way is up…or at least which way is north? Please join us at the Salute the Compass\, January 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Silva Bay Marina. \nStaff Captain\, Lesley Hazeldine will determine at that time if it will be an on-the-water event or if inclement weather\, a land event. Dress appropriately and bring libation for the salute. If on the water\, boats will congregate in Commodores Passage for the salute. SUMMARY:Fishing Derby
DESCRIPTION:Silva Bay Yacht Club fishing Derby \nOur club will hold a fishing derby in conjunction with the Annual Silva Bay fishing Derby.\nMembers can fish and register their fish with our club (free for our members) for club prizes and/or join the Silva Bay Derby for $50. The Derby has over $20\,000 worth of prizes and giveaways this year.\nTickets for the Silva Bay Derby can be purchased at Arbutus Home Building Centre\, Gone Fishin’\, the Harbour Chandler and Silva Bay Resort & Marina. \nFrom 4-7pm\, on Saturday September 6th the Silva Bay Yacht Club will have a concession to sell hot dogs and hamburgers. Volunteers are needed. The purpose of the concession is to bring more awareness of our club and proceeds are to go towards a new trophy for the Silva Bay Derby and the Gabriola PHC.  We are also hoping to provide some musical entertainment.
